Winter Schools
How can we actively engage PhD and graduate students in our project and give them a valuable training experience that will teach them on the job? We will invite them to our unique Hedwige-Prosperpolder Living Lab! The concept of a Winter School was born.
What is a Winter School?
Winter School is a one-week event for participants from around the world to be actively involved in experiments of the Living Lab.
Training and research
Following a balanced schedule of in-class and field training and research, participants develop and provide theoretical and practical insights into flood resilience capacity building on a strategic and operational level. Their findings are shared and discussed with local stakeholders in the Hedwige-Prosperpolder and the Polder2C’s partners and observers.
Planning Winter Schools
In the winters of 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, PhD and Masters’ students in the fields of Hydraulic Engineering and Flood Resilience can expand their knowledge and skills during the Polder2C’s Winter Schools. The first Winter School will take place on 1-5 March 2021.
More information
More information on the Winter Schools and how to participate will be shared at a later stage via educational institutes and partners involved.
